Introducing Maker Mondays: Building a Community of Women
Hey there, wonderful ladies! My name is Mel, and I'm thrilled to be your host for my exciting new concept of Maker Mondays. This idea has been brewing in my mind for years, sparked by my own personal journey through life, motherhood and the experiences of the amazing women around me.
As a mother, entrepreneur, and creative soul, I understand the struggles we face in finding space and time for ourselves amidst the demands of everyday life. It's a journey filled with ups and downs, joys, and challenges. But one thing that has always inspired me is the power of women helping women and the age-old concept of a tight-knit, supportive village.
Almost a decade ago, as I embarked on my own journey of motherhood, Michael and I were fortunate to move our humble home-based photography business to a commercial studio space in Harrison, ACT. Little did I know that this space would become the foundation for an incredible venture that I am so proud of today.
Fast forward to the present, and I'm delighted to share that we've expanded our horizons. We now own the neighbouring space, and it's become home to a thriving collection of businesses, including live-streaming, audio-visual, photobooths, and, of course, our photography business. But beyond just a space for business, this has become a place where dreams are nurtured and creativity flourishes.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of running these ventures, I've been carving out a special place in my heart and schedule for a precious community activity – Maker Mondays. This is a passion project I've held close to my heart for years, and I can't wait to finally bring it to life.
Maker Mondays is all about building a community of women who support and inspire each other. It's a safe haven where we can come together, share our stories, and celebrate our diverse talents and passions. Whether you're a seasoned creator or you’re just tired and need some self love, there's a place for you here.
